The Bulldogs have started out 0-2 in PFL play so far, and look to get back on the winning side against Morehead State on Saturday in Kentucky.

Both teams have a 2-3 record coming into this game, as Morehead State has gone 1-1 in PFL play so far. The Eagles had a big win against Dayton, and a 38-0 loss at Campbell last weekend. Morehead State leads the all- time record against Butler 14-6, winning the game last year 54-28 at the Sellick Bowl.

Looking at the Eagles

Redshirt junior Lawson Page leads the offense at the quarterback position, and has already thrown for over 1,100 yards on the season ranking in the top 30 in the country for that category. Page has had 2 games passing for 4 touchdowns, including the game against Dayton, where he racked up 309 yards through the air.

Jarin Higginbotham leads the receiving end with 5 touchdown catches this season, tied for the PFL lead. The junior also averages 91.8 yards per game, which is good enough for a top 10 ranking in the PFL. Senior Christian Robinson also provides an air attack, catching 4 touchdown passes, including 3 against Dayton.

Defensively, Butler will need to watch out for corner Braylyn Cook, who already has 3 interceptions this season, including 2 in the past 2 games. The senior cornerback has 9 interceptions in his career so far.

Looking at Butler

Same names to look at for Butler. Pace Temple added another 100 yard game against Drake, but could not pull in any touchdowns. Will Marty had a tough game against Drake, only completing 15 of his 32 passes for 197 yards.

Butler has really struggled to get the ground game going, rushing for just 387 yards through 5 games. Opponents have rushed for 698 yards against the defense this year. The Bulldogs have also allowed 14 touchdowns through the air this year, compared to just 6 on their side.

On the road is always a tough game. Lawson Page is a tough quarterback who can really throw, and has many weapons to choose from on his side. My heart always says Butler, but I’ll have to keep it realistic for this one.
