Butler Wins Big at Franklin

The Bulldogs traveled to Franklin on Saturday and got back on track with a big win against the Grizzlies 43-24. They improve to 1-1 on the season.

Butler was in control from the beginning, forcing a safety on the first offensive drive for the Grizzlies. Duvante Lane then added a score to make it 9-0 early in the first quarter.

The offense added up 501 total yards as Will Marty was able to find 10 different receivers, throwing for 313 yards. Pace Temple led the way with 156 yards on 8 receptions and 1 touchdown catch. Temple set a career high for yards in a game.

Duvante Lane had 117 of the 170 total rushing yards on the game, rushing for 2 touchdowns. Brad Sznadjer added a score late in the first half as well. Butler had 31 first downs on the game, opposed to the Grizzlies 19.

The defense allowed 3 passing touchdowns from QB Chase Burton, Luke Sennett picked him off once. Franklin did edge out Butler in passing yards with 333 yards, opposed to 331.

At the half, the score was 33-16, both teams only scoring 1 touchdown in the second half.

Butler will have their first home game of the year this Saturday vs. Taylor at 6:30. The game will be broadcasted live on the Butler Bulldogs Facebook live stream.
