Indiana’s game at Louisville now has a tip time. On Tuesday, Indiana Athletics announced tipoff for the December 9th game will be at 2 PM. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN. This is the second game of a three year series between the two schools. Last season in an underwhelming performance the Hoosiers fell to Louisville 77-62. Indiana posts an all time record of 10-8 against the Cardinals. However, Louisville has outplayed Indiana in the last two meetings.
Replacing Donovan Mitchell and Jaylen Johnson will not be easy for Louisville, however the Cardinals will still be a pre-season top 10 team. Despite the talented players the Cardinals have lost, they still will be bringing back two double digit scorers with Quentin Snider (12.4 PPG) and Deng Adel ( 12.1 PPG). Louisville also returns Anas Mahmoud, V.J. King, and Raymond Spalding. The Cardinals brought in two 247 top 30 recruits with Brian Bowen (#19) and Indiana native Malik Williams (#27). The additions of Bowen and Williams should definitely help the Cardinals replace Mitchell and Johnson’s production. Louisville is always a good team on the defensive end of the court, and I would expect much of the same again this season. This will definitely be a tough matchup for the Hoosiers as they will be playing in a hostile environment against a good and well coached opponent.
December 9th will also be a busy day for both coaching staffs. The Forum Tipoff classic will be taking place at the Southport Fieldhouse. The event features some of the top talent from the region and the state of Indiana. The event concludes with Romeo Langford and his New Albany team facing off against Keion Brooks Jr. and his Fort Wayne Northside team. There is a good chance both Archie Miller and Rick Pitiino will be in attendance to watch Romeo Langford and Keion Brooks since New Albany and Northside play in the final game of the day.
