Indiana now has their 4th commit in the 2018 recruiting class. On Monday night, PSA Cardinals and Westtown forward Jake Forrester announced he would be attending Indiana.

The 6’9 forward is considered a three star recruit by 247sports. Forrester also boasts a seven foot wing span.
Forrester is very athletic and has nice length which should allow him to be a solid defender at the next level. Forrester is a high energy, high flying, fast paced player that can finish above the rim. Forrester also does a nice job of running the floor and affecting shots on the defensive end of the court. Forrester’s motor was also another tool that stood out when I watched him play during the summer. When asked what type of player he wants to be down the road Forrester had this to say, “A stretch four that can put the ball on the floor and shoot the ball well. I also want to play above the rim and change shots.” I expect Forrester to spend time playing the four and the five when he gets to IU.
Forrester was in Bloomington for an official visit to Indiana this past weekend. Jake had several other visits planned, but decided to cancel them and commit to Indiana. When asked about his Indiana visit Forrester responded, “Indiana was great and my visit was great. They showed me a great time. Right away when I stepped on campus I loved it. I loved the feel of the atmosphere, the people around me, the coaching staff, and it just felt right in my gut.”
Archie Miller and his staff had been recruiting Forrester hard since the summer, and when asked what he likes about coach Miller Forrester said, “Just the way he is. I watched a lot highlights of his Dayton teams, and their style really fits my style. Their coaching staff is just great for me. We sat down and had a lot of long conversations about the visit, and they just made it feel like it would be home for me and they’d take care of me and produce me into the player that I know I want to become.”
Forrester chose Indiana over Pittsburgh, Xavier, Seton Hall, and Virginia Tech.
Forrester joins Jerome Hunter, Damezi Anderson, and Robert Phinisee in Indiana’s 2018 recruiting class. Indiana now has one scholarship remaining for the 2018 class, and it will be used to pursue New Albany star Romeo Langford.
