The North Central Panthers (2-1) had a lot on their minds going into tonight Game versus (2-1) Lawrence North Wildcats in a 6A High School Football matchup! Panthers Head Coach O’Shea made sure his team would be ready to play after losing to Warren Central last week 42-21. The practice wasn’t easy this week in preparing for The Wildcats because the Wildcats in 3 games are averaging 828 total rushing yards from scrimmage but at the same time Coach O’Shea worked on some of the weakness shown in the prior game.
Lawrence North came into the game with high expectations of spoiling Homecoming for the Panthers, Trevon Bonds had the only score for the Wildcats as the Panthers defense played with intensity. Classion Henry, Justin Helm, and Ramon Stallings were big contributors for the Panthers Defense. Short yards were hard to get and in the no fly zone lead by Iowa soon to be DJ Johnson. The Wildcats never gained momentum to put enough point on the board.
The Panthers Offense lead by Quarterback Liam Thompson look more confident and had more control over the offensive, in which Offense Line Coach Brown implemented more plays down the field as well as George Strokes scoring 2 Touchdowns! Cole Maguire looking like a Division I WR, catching multiple balls through traffic, long gains down the field, and making defenders miss while taking some good shots and hits by the defense of the Wildcats.
The Panthers took control in the 2nd half and limited the Wildcats to 3 and outs, a turnover and production by the Panther Offense. The final score North Central 28 Lawrence North 7. The Panthers play Carmel next Friday so stay tuned!
