Notre Dame Unranked After First Loss Of The Season

After a heartbreaking 19-20 loss to No. 15 Georgia, the Fighting Irish are once again out of the Top 25 AP rankings. This could prove to be a huge game for Notre Dame going forward. If Notre Dame wins that game, they most likely could have moved to No. 20, possibly even higher. Notre Dame fans cannot stand to see the Irish choke away leads over and over again. For the past couple of seasons, one lone possession has ultimately decided the difference between a win and a loss in many games. Notre Dame has looked promising in all of these particular games, but cannot close out the game or score when it matters most. Notre Dame has played Florida State and Clemson in recent memory, and these games have come down to one possession as well. The Irish are a dismal 1-8 when it comes to one possession games against Top 25 teams.

Brian Kelly and the Irish have just not been able to close out big games in recent years; the games that actually matter most in order to get into the Top 4. After the loss to Georgia, Brian Kelly is on the hot seat. Brian Kelly and The Irish need to make a huge statement when they play their next Top 25 opponent, USC, in a few weeks. Notre Dame needs to start closing games out and finishing strong, or else Brian Kelly is going to be in some trouble.
